Installation by Africa

Many praises as I was able to get internet within the first 8 days of being in Germany.  This was a miracle!  The receiver you see in this picture was originally on the drain pipe on the side of my apartment.  the neighbours complained to the house master, who relayed the concerns to the BFA housing coordinator, who called the internet provider down the road.  Enter my host family and the tree they wanted to get rid of and voila high speed tree!

After telling the housing coordinator that the receiver had successfully been moved to the patio she suggested the house mater would probably call to ask if he could remove the label.  That I was able to do on my own, with the aid of some post it notes I brought from the states I know have an internet receiver that (so far) I have not gotten any complaints about!

The title of this blog comes from the internet provider.  As he was rigging the receiver to the pole and the stick that I had dug into the dirt around the tree, he turned to me and said that this is what the Germans call "Installation by Africa."  Some duck tape and zip ties later and I was back on the internet!
